So I recently got a job as a server in a banquet hall, and got the pleasure of working a wedding on my second shift.
The bride’s dress was absolutely beautiful - strapless, sweetheart neckline, a full lace overlay, and a flowing train.
The reception was a three-course meal - salad, chicken fingers and fries, and chocolate cake, or fruit compote for people with gluten allergies. Speaking of allergies, the chef was very accommodating to the guests’ needs - so don’t be afraid to ask if you have any guests with special requests. Last night we had allergies to gluten, nuts, and lactose, as well as vegetarians. For dessert, the kids got ice cream sundaes rather than rich chocolate cake.
There was also a self-serve meat and cheese platter, and a table full of retro candy - double bubble, rockets, popeye sticks, all in the bride & groom’s monogrammed candy bags!
I loved being able to work a wedding, if you couldn’t tell.
